CKN was a creative writer by nature. While his passion lay in literature, he took on various professions to support his family and make a living. His journey was marked by both successes and setbacks, but regardless of the challenges he faced, his commitment to literature never wavered. Even during periods of financial struggle and uncertainty, his desire to write remained strong.
To earn a livelihood, CKN entered the field of journalism, a profession he embraced out of necessity. Although journalism did not bring him substantial financial rewards, the modest income he earned was invaluable to him. Determined to support his family through his writing, he dedicated himself to mastering both Kannada and English, continually refining his language skills and literary craft.
His work as a journalist and his literary pursuits complemented one another. Writing for newspapers enriched his understanding of society, while his literary works reflected the depth of his observations and experiences. Whether employed or not, CKN never stopped contributing articles to newspapers and periodicals. His constant travels in search of information and stories broadened his horizons, enriching his knowledge and strengthening his creative expression.
CKN has reviewed about three hundred books in Kannada and English. Many reviews have been printed in Indian P.E.N., UNESCO Literary Supplement, Quarterly Journal of Mythic Society, Vani, Kannada Nudi, Sahithya Parishatpathrike, Prajamata, Janapragathi, Kannada Prabha and Samyuktha Karnataka newspapers. A few reviews have been aired in Aakashavani (All India Radio, Bangalore). Many reviews of books in newspapers were published under the pen name “Harithasa.”
In the mid of 1970, Sudharma, the world's only Sanskrit daily newspaper which is based in Mysuru, Karnataka was launched. From its inception, CKN served as its correspondent for a period of 20 years, contributing to the newspaper's unique mission of promoting Sanskrit journalism.
