Based on the novel by Dr. K.M.Munshi, a famous leader of all India, Pruthhveevallabha movie was produced in Hindi and was released during 1950 decade. In that there were some tainted facts about the Chalukya Emperor Thylapa of Chalukya dynasty as well as to the Kannada heritage. With the purpose to ward off this untruth and to bring it into light the real Chalukya history, CKN did the research, collected plenty of recorded historical documents and articles to create this historical novel ‘Sri pruthvee vallabha’. It was written in 1992 and was published in 1995.

Chaklukya Kingdom started in Shalivana Saka 422 and was in existence for about two and a half centuries. In Saka 633, Rashtrakoota’s Danthidurga by an unexpected battle occupied the Chalukya Kingdom. Chalukya’s Flag bearing the boar’s symbol came down and Rashtrakoota’s flag bearing the lion symbol was triumphantly flying. Chalukya’s King became a tributary King (saamantha). One lineage from the Chalukya dynasty continued on the west side region between the two rivers Krishna and Kapila. But, the deep desire to get back their kingdom from Rashtrakootas and to glorify the Chalukya kingdom did not diminish from their minds. For that to happen they went ahead to use different kinds of political schemes. Chaalukyas wanted to gain back their kingdom and live peacefully by establishing relationship through marriage as a tool, reducing the enmity and expanding their friendship with Rashtrakootas.

[This Novel, ‘Prithveevallabha’, is a combination of history, creativity, imagination and work of art. It would be difficult to create a historical novel than to create your own novel. Historical facts should not be insulted, creativity should not be weakened, imagination should not be out of control and the diligence in work of art should not be deficient. Everything has to be culturally complementing to each other. A historical novel has to be created under the shadow of these aspects. The equanimity (samachitthathe) between the actual and the historical reality has to be huge (agaadha). The author has achieved this satisfactorily which can be seen throughout this Novel. We should be proud of author’s good taste for our culture and heritage. Due to this, an artistic novel has been manifested based on the past history’s incidents. This Novel ‘PrithveevallaBha’ has become a witness to prove that our history is not just a remnant of incidents of death, but a reflection of living culture. This novel has given a new lustre to the historical incidents of Chalukya Kingdom. ……Prof. D. Lingaiah]
